Job Description
Forbes Pharmacy-Pandora is looking for a full-time Pharmacy Assistant/Delivery Driver to join our team in Victoria, British Columbia.
Patient Focused Care Responsibilities:
Support pharmacists and pharmacy technicians in providing high-quality patient care
Greet customers and answer phone calls in a professional manner
Assist with entering, labelling, and packaging prescriptions under the supervision of a pharmacist or pharmacy technician
Accurately count, measure, and package medications according to established protocols
Receive and stock medication and supply shipments, monitor inventory levels, rotate stock, and support inventory audits
Keep the pharmacy area clean and organized; safely dispose of expired medications and hazardous waste in accordance with regulations
Perform clerical tasks such as filing, faxing, scanning, and assist with insurance claims and prescription transfers
Assist with daily pharmacy operations and perform other duties as assigned
Delivery Driver Duties:
Perform pickups and deliveries of medications and medical supplies throughout Victoria.
Reports directly to the Pharmacy Manager
As a company vehicle is not available, candidates will be required to use their own reliable vehicle for deliveries. Mileage reimbursement will be provided.
Maintains the safety and security of all cargo
Complete delivery documentation and ensure delivery slips are signed and submitted.
Lifts and maneuvers large packages as required
Maintains accurate records
Carries out additional duties assigned by the Pharmacy Manager
Qualifications:
Experience as a Pharmacy Assistant in a retail pharmacy with a preliminary understanding of the pharmacy business is preferred.
Completion of a pharmacy assistant program is an asset.
Skilled in using Kroll and highly accurate and efficient in prescription data entry is an asset.
Candidates must possess a valid and permanent provincial driver's licence with a safe driving record for the past 3 years.
First Aid and CPR certification is required.
Driver’s abstract (dated within 30 days) required
Candidates will be required to use their own reliable vehicle for deliveries. Mileage reimbursement will be provided.
Trustworthy and dependable, with a high level of professionalism
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to thrive in a team environment
Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize multiple assignments
Ability to stand for long periods and occasional lifting of boxes/containers
Ability to lift and maneuver large packages
Ability to follow procedures and guidelines accurately
Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
Criminal Record Check required
Schedule:
40 hours per week.
The store operates Monday to Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday from 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
8-hour shift
