Specific Job Duties:
- Repair, weld and modify castings as needed.
- Repair, weld and modify racks.
- Fabrication of special projects as required.
- Trolley repair and rebuild.
- Carrier changeovers and builds.
- Reassign carriers or paint line at the Track Switch for production needs per scheduling demands.
- Perform audits of carriers, production line, paint build up on castings, etc.
- Ability to safely operate a forklift on a rotating schedule.
Educational Requirements
- Ability to read, write and speak English effectively along with basic mathematical skills required.
- Basic computer skills required.
- Will be required to complete college credits/welding certificate within (2) two years of being awarded a cart maintenance position.
- Must successfully complete and pass the theory and practical training module as stated in the Norplas Forklift Safety Policy to obtain a license and operate a forklift.
- Must successfully pass a practical re-certification audit, every three years or as required through OSHA Standards.
Related Work Experience
- Previous manufacturing experience preferred.
- Ability to use tape measure, plasma cutter, welding torch, welder, aluminum welder, impact gun, steel welder and oxygen acytelyn.
Physical Requirements
- This position requires a person to have the ability to perform work while
standing or walking a minimum of eight (8) hours a day, the ability to lift up to
50 pounds on a frequent basis and the ability to perform work that is below the knees and above the shoulders on a frequent basis. This position also requires a person to have the ability to use vibrating hand tools for a minimum of four (4) hours a day, the capable of performing sustained motion for a minimum of eight (8) hours a day and capable of repetitive motion for up to five (5) hours. Good vision at a close distance is required.
