Finnair Technical Operations division's task is to execute Finnair's flight operations safely, economically and in a reliable manner. Finnair Technical Operations is responsible for the airworthiness of the Finnair fleet. The key objectives of Technical Operations are safety, reliable flight operations and cost-efficient maintenance processes. 

We are now looking for a

SHOP TECHNICIAN

to our hydraulics repair shop to work as a part of the Finnair Operations – Component Maintenance team. You will be responsible for building and maintaining testing arrangements for aircraft hydraulic components, providing technical expertise and perform component maintenance work on your own responsibility area. You will have a central role in building new repair capability within the next few years.

As a Shop Technician you have previous experience in hydraulic systems and repair and testing of hydraulic components. You are interested to learn new things and you are development-oriented and not afraid to take responsibility. The position does not require previous experience in aviation.

Our repair shop is in the proximity of Helsinki-Vantaa airport. To this position, CLA for Finnair Technical White-collar workers is applied and the work is performed in business days and in daytime.

In this role, you will:

  • Build and maintain component testing arrangements in the repair shop providing instruction and guidance.

  • Maintain the specialized processes of the repair shop.

  • Provide technical expertise for job preparation, troubleshooting and repairs: perform testing and instruct repairs and report work to information systems (including customer systems).

  • Contribute on short term planning of component maintenance and prepare the related paperwork as necessary.

  • Collaborate with technical support to ensure quality of repairs.

  • Act as a mentor.

  • Contribute to inventory management by recommending items and quantities.

  • Perform quality checks on parts and perform problem solving related to testing and repair work. 

  • Perform component maintenance work (up to half time) and issue maintenance certificates.

From you, we wish:

  • Previous experience in hydraulic systems and repair and testing of hydraulic components.

  • Good communication & coordination /prioritization skills.

  • Ability to lead work in own responsibility area.

  • Helpful and cooperative in teamwork.

  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to withstand pressure.

  • Good written and spoken English and Finnish.
