Job Title: Industrial- Electrical Maintenance Journeyman
Starting Pay Rate: $34.50 (after 6 months $35.50)
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:00am-3:00pm and3:00 PM - 11:00 PM, with mandatory overtime as needed
Reports To: Maintenance Manager
Job Summary:We are seeking a skilled and motivated Electrical Maintenance Journeyman to join our team. This role primarily responsible for Installation and maintenance of all electrical aspects of the facility and equipment including lighting, presses, paint line and compressors.
Responsibilities:
Maintain all motor control systems and all electrical aspects of pneumatic, mechanical and hydraulic systems.
Troubleshoot electrical circuit issues
Read and accurately interpret blue prints and schematics
Safely operate cranes, hoists, forklift and man-lift
Utilize and work with maintenance trades and components such as electrical, welding, pipefitting, fabrication, mechanical, and Tool and Die
Perform general repairs to heavy machinery, and other preventive maintenance, minimizing equipment downtime.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace, adhering to all safety and quality standards
Employees are required to provide their own tools
Other duties as assigned
Shift is 8 hours. May work overtime up to 10-12 hours. Two 10-minute breaks/ shift and 20-minute meal break. Employees get paid the entire time they are clocked in and do not clock out for breaks, if taken on campus!
Qualifications:
Must be able to see color vision, specifically the ability to perceive a wide range of colors accurately and distinguish minimal variations in color.
Must be able to communicate in English
Strong problem solving skills
Ability to work within a team setting
Must be able to demonstrate understanding health and safety compliance training programs and departmental work instructions that are written in English
High school diploma or equivalent
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Physical Demands:
Lift up to 50 lbs
Work in awkward positions including lying on back and working overhead, pulling wire overhead
Must be able to climb ladders up to 20 feet and on top of equipment, in a safe manner, when needed.
Regularly required to stand, walk, use hands, reach above head and below shoulder level
Ability to work in a non- climate-controlled environment
Must be able to pass pulmonary function test and respirator exam to wear negative pressure respiratory protection.
Must be clean shaven in the face piece-to face-sealing surface when wearing a respirator
If vision corrective lenses must be worn, must be able to wear glasses. Contacts are not allowed under certain working conditions
Weight Limitation: must weight not more than 310 pounds (person plus tools) in order to use fall protection equipment
Must be able to communicate in English
Work Environment:
The work environment is representative of conditions typical for a manufacturing facility. Guardian West is not a climate-controlled facility. Safety precautions must always be followed to reduce exposure to hazards
Exposure to moving mechanical parts, wet/humid conditions, fumes, airborne particles, and loud environments
Occasional exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals and vibration
