A Pastry Cook II works under the supervision of the Pastry Lead and Pastry Chef but must possess the ability to work independently.What Does Success Look Like:Your Impact
Utilize standardized recipes to prepare daily preparation requirements, maintain par levels of necessary items
Ability to create daily production lists
Ability to work unsupervised
Develop new menu items under the direction of a supervisor
Ensure attractive and consistent presentation of food items, both buffet and plated
Interact with other pastry cooks to monitor quality, presentation and consistency of food items prepared
Handle all needs and accommodate customer requests in a timely manner
Set up, restock, maintain and clean pastry department
Responsible to ensure presentation standards are met for all items
Read and interpret recipes
Assist with product inventories
Responsible for team maintenance of grooming standards
Responsible for team adherence to standards for sanitation and safe food handling
Responsible for all opening and/or closing kitchen procedures
What You Bring:
Previous baking experience or professional pastry education required
Necessary State Food Handler’s License(s)
Ability to read and comprehend simple instruction, short correspondence, and memos,
Ability to effectively present information one-on-one and small group situations to other employees
Must possess knife skills and the ability to adjust preparations for flavor
Native American/Alaskan Native preference applies under applicable TER requirements.
