Our growing investment practice is looking for a talented, hardworking Investment Analyst to be based in our Vancouver office, serving Eckler’s Indigenous clients across the country. Our consultants provide advice to a wide range of Indigenous Trusts, as well as foundations, endowments, pension plans and other institutional investors. The team helps with all aspects of our clients’ investment strategy including investment policy development, asset liability modelling, portfolio structuring (including traditional and alternative assets), plan design, manager and fund line-up selection, monitoring, governance, and compliance. The analyst group is at the heart of the practice, building customized reports and information required by our clients.
We are looking for an individual with strong interpersonal skills who can fit into a tightly knit team and can effectively deal with competing priorities in a busy consulting practice. If you are looking to fine tune your Investment Analyst skills, then this role may be the right fit for you!

Role and Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly and quarterly client performance reports with a particular focus on Indigenous Trusts
- Perform ad-hoc performance analysis
- Assist with cashflow and sustainability projections for Indigenous Trusts
- Contribute to Eckler’s wider Indigenous Business Focus Group, providing insights on cultural alignment to meet the needs of Indigenous clients
- Assist with the implementation of Eckler’s Reconciliation Action Plan
- Industry research and keeping up to date with industry developments
- Develop expertise in the asset management industry, various asset classes, and manager and record keeper assessment
- Meet with investment management organizations to assess their skills and capabilities as well as the appropriateness of their investment strategies for client portfolios
- Meet with and analyze record keepers to assess their skills, capabilities and appropriateness for client retirement programs
- Promote continuous improvement in processes and reporting, proactively identifying opportunities for enhancements
- Passion for investing and for helping Eckler's clients make optimal investment decisions

What you offer
- Undergraduate degree with finance, investment or a math focus
- University co-op / summer work experience within finance/investment industry preferred
- Demonstrated knowledge of Indigenous culture and history
- Enrollment in the CFA program or similar preferred
- Good analytical abilities and Excel proficiency
- Enthusiastic contributor with strong collaboration skills

- Experience or qualifications in financial risk management
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
