JOB BRIEF The Quality Technician ensures compliance with the regulations and guidelines related to the quality and safety of all food products from the Fiesta Bakery Plant. JOB DUTIES - Perform audits of Good Manufacturing Practices for plant personnel and follow up on the opportunity areas found - Verify and ensure compliance with the internal specifications of the products - Release of finished product - Monitor and evaluate visually the efficiency of cleaning procedures for equipment, utensils and work areas - Prepare Quality reports when required, of the different activities carried out - Detection of opportunities for improvement in the process areas - Verify and validate the procedures in the lines - Monitoring of production lines - Inform and verify the timely correction of the deviations detected in the production process - Verify the proper handling of allergens in the different stages of the production process - Archive the generated Quality documentation - Perform required finished product testing and the effective completion of documentation and data entry. - Conduct Food Safety Inspections - Conduct GMP and SSOP inspections daily - Responsible for completing required quality documentation accurately - Understanding of GFSI - Other duties with similar skill, work conditions, and responsibilities as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS - High School degree, diploma or a GED equivalent qualification from an accredited institution. - Two to three years of experience in a similar role - Excellent written and verbal communication skills. - Teamwork - Communication Skills – verbal and written COMPETENCIES Never- 0%, Occasionally- 1-33%, Frequently- 34-66%, Continuously- 67-100% Physical Demands: - Occasionally- Carrying up to 10lbs., pushing and pulling up to 25lbs, lifting up to 10lbs., climbing up to 6 foot height, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and smelling. - Frequently- Standing on tile/concrete, walking on tile/concrete, talking, seeing, hearing and smelling. - Continuously- Sitting, manual dexterity, talking, seeing, and hearing. Safety Risk Factors: - Occasionally-Loud noise, cluttered floor surface, contact with skin irritant, toxic exposure (see Material Safety Data Sheets), nuisance dust, fumes, sprays, and hazardous cleaning solutions. - Frequently-Twisting of back and neck, slippery floor surface, and contact with sharp objects.
