
Quality Assurance Technician / Electrical Testing Technician (NETA Certification a Plus – Training Provided)
Job Description
- Assist with and perform electrical testing in accordance with NETA ATS/MTS standards (training provided)
- Support acceptance, maintenance, troubleshooting, and commissioning testing of:
- Switchgear
- Circuit breakers
- Transformers
- Protective relays
- Power cables
- Grounding systems
- Set up and operate electrical test equipment under supervision or independently as experience grows
- Verify proper installation and operation of electrical systems
- Support internal quality assurance (QA/QC) processes and ensure compliance with company and industry standards
- Identify deficiencies, non-conformances, and potential risks; assist in developing corrective actions
- Ensure all testing procedures and documentation meet required standards and specifications
- Participate in audits, inspections, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Accurately document test procedures, results, and observations
- Assist in preparing detailed test reports and turnover documentation
- Maintain organized records of testing data, calibration logs, and inspection reports
- Ensure timely and accurate submission of all required documentation
- Maintain, inspect, and properly handle electrical testing equipment
- Assist with calibration tracking and ensure tools are in proper working condition
- Follow proper storage, transportation, and usage procedures for sensitive testing instruments
- Work closely with project managers, engineers, and senior technicians to support project goals
- Communicate effectively with team members regarding testing progress, issues, and results
- Assist in training and mentoring less experienced team members as skills develop
- Follow all company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and site-specific safety requirements
- Participate in job hazard analyses (JHAs), safety meetings, and toolbox talks
- Maintain a strong safety-first mindset in all work environments
- Properly use personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times
- Electrical background, technical training, or related field experience
- Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude
- Willingness to learn electrical testing standards, procedures, and equipment
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and technical documents
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record
- Willingness and ability to travel to job sites as required
- NETA Certification (Level I–IV) or actively pursuing certification
- Experience with electrical testing, commissioning, or power systems
- Familiarity with electrical testing equipment (e.g., megger, relay test sets, hi-pot testers)
- Experience with test reporting software and digital documentation systems
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification
- Basic understanding of the National Electrical Code (NEC)

Pay Range: $38 - $43 per hour
