
Family Nurse Practitioner
Job Description
South Plains Rural Health Services, Inc. is seeking a dependable and patient-focused Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) to join our healthcare team. This position provides primary care services to patients in a rural health clinic setting while working closely with physicians, nursing staff, and clinical support teams to deliver quality patient care.
What You'll Do:
- Assess, diagnose, treat, and monitor acute and chronic medical conditions
- Perform complete physical examinations and patient assessments
- Obtain and document patient medical histories
- Order and interpret routine diagnostic tests, labs, and x-rays
- Prescribe medications and develop treatment plans within scope of practice
- Educate and counsel patients and families on health management and prevention
- Collaborate with physicians and healthcare team members regarding patient care
- Refer patients to specialists or higher levels of care when necessary
- Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation in the EHR
- Participate in quality improvement and patient care initiatives
- Follow infection control and patient safety guidelines
What You'll Bring:
- Current Family Nurse Practitioner license in Texas
- Graduation from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program
- Current CPR/BLS certification
- Strong clinical assessment and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
- Experience in primary care or rural health preferred
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
