Responsibilities
- Contribute to production operations by complying with policies and procedures for meat processing; Good Manufacturing Practices, Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) regulations, etc.
- Delegate responsibilities to Forklift Operators, and perform tasks assigned by Shipping Coordinator, Shipping/Receiving Supervisor, or Shipping/Receiving Manager.
- Conduct and document forklift inspections, prior to use, to comply with OSHA regulations, noting equipment in need of repair.
- Supply the production departments with raw materials, materials, and supplies, as needed.
- Weigh the ‘inedible’ product from the previous workday and discard it to the rendering vendor.
- Place and store rework product in cooler, within the scope of the rework product procedure.
- Coordinate the loading of shipments to trucks, documentation of data on load sheets and receiving sheets, as assigned by the Shipping/Receiving Supervisor or Shipping/Receiving Manager.
- Pull raw materials out of raw product cooler to clean floor and return them to cooler in proper rotation.
- Conduct and document supply inventory at the end of each shift, providing Shipping Clerk with the information.
- Calibrate the dock scale to ensure accuracy.
Qualifications•
Level One Qualifications:
- Prior leadership experience in a warehouse or distribution environment is preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret shipping documents, invoices, and compliance paperwork.
- Ability to operate forklifts (stand up), pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Effective time management and ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to cover cooler/freezer, including down stocking meat slots and verifying physical counts
- Adherence to FIFO standards and rotations
- SAP experience in shipping and receiving
- Knowledge of grinding department
- Identify and complete incoming damages report, including photos
- Verify exports are loaded and verify proper documentation
- Train and lead lower-level forklift operators
- Must lead enforcement of SOP policies and procedures.
- Must be able to train and mentor lower-level associates.
- Must be able to read and understand the inbound schedule.
