Job Description
Assesses and treats patients referred for Physical Therapy. Organizes and conducts Physical Therapy program to restore function, maximize independence, and prevent or correct disability following impairment.
EDUCATION: Bachelor of Science Degree in Physical Therapy.
INPATIENT PREFERRED QUALITFICATIONS: 1) Doctorate in Physical Therapy 2) 2 years acute care physical therapy experience 3) Advanced Specialty Certification, including, but not limited to: Cardiovascular & Pulmonary Certified Specialists (CCS), Geriatric Certified Specialist (GCS), Neurologic Certified Specialist (NCS)
COMPETENCY: Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) Certification is required within the first 90 days of hire, thereafter an annual BLS refresher will be required. Demonstrates knowledge of human growth and development required for effective communication and care of the adolescent, adult and older adult populations.
ADDITIONAL CONSIDERATIONS: Frequent stooping, pushing, pulling and lifting is required when moving patients and/or equipment during treatment. Due to nature of the work, good interpersonal skills and sensitivity are necessary.
Florida State licensure to practice Physical Therapy.
