WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Drive new product commercialization and marketing strategy from the commercial perspective which will profitably grow the Abbott Diabetes Care business, overseeing the key functions and processes, and assisting the DVP of Global Marketing in directing and managing the ADC commercial organization to meet its strategic objectives.
  • Coordinate with appropriate commercial teams to ensure plans and objectives are met. 
  • Work with DVP of Marketing to ensure that systems are in place to enable the business to operate in an efficient, legal and ethical manner. 
  • Devise and direct actionable information and insight into customer needs, to impact strategic, marketing, and product development decisions that result in ADC competitive advantages.
  • Develop and oversee the execution of market research activities, provide direction and input to marketing and sales relating to market research activities. 
  • Manage relationships across functions to ensure optimal outcome for projects.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITY

  • Responsible for analysis, planning, and implementation of all market research programs.
  • Provide direction and input to internal operational groups relating to market research activities. 
  • Manage budget responsibilities.
  • To identify the most effective positioning and branding of ADC products and assist in setting strategy that maximizes market share grow, income gains and minimizes customer base cannibalization by ADC competing products and /or loss to the competition.
  • Assist commercial marketing part of the approval process for new product design goals, by being the voice of the customer (both external end users and internal commercial customers) based on solid market analytics.
  • Responsible for acquiring, motivating and developing people to achieve the organizations’ goal and develop into the future senior managers of ADC.
  • Responsible for the development of strategic plan guidance.
  • Manages budget related to marketing budget and product responsibilities.
  • Provides input for business development/alliance projects.
  • Lead marketing person of a marketing support function.
  • Negotiates programming/funding within organization and across division.
  • Provides direction and strategy to develop metrics used in managing business and evaluating ADC vs. competitive performance.
  • Respond to brand/channel requests and competitive information, etc.
  • Manages vendor relationships, setting clear direction.
  • Drives the development of the strategic plan and ensures that the business strategy is communicated to all the areas of responsibility and uses the resources within the organization to help us achieve our financial commitments.
  • Works with managers when needed, to help them understand their business and define tactical strategies consistent with ADC strategies.
  • Maintains contacts with key customers and other outside institutions that can help further the interests of the business or the division and to ensure products and services continue to provide service to the community and are for the patient.
  • Oversee the development of special programs in conjunction with major industry meetings.
  • This position will interacts with and supports on a regular basis the DVP of Global Marketing, Regional Commercial Leadership and Region Marketing Directors, Director of Global Commercial Innovation Strategy, Director of Global Market Research & Competitive Intelligence.
  • Responsible for ensuring that ADC strategy and positioning of is products optimizes return on investment while meeting the needs of the markets and customers we serve.
  • Responsible for overseeing the commercial rollout of new products and assisting senior commercial leadership in meeting performance objectives.
  • Responsible for ensuring that the systems and procedures and management structures are in place which will allow the division to meets in an ethical and legally compliant manner.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelors Degree - B.A./B.A., M.B.A. or equivalent in marketing, sciences or business related disciplines
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in market research and analysis, advertising, medical devices or consumer products  
  • At least 10 years of medical or consumer market research advertising, marketing experience. 
  • Medical diagnostic or other medical experience desirable. 
  • Experience in diabetes industry optional.  
  • Global experience a plus. 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

     

The base pay for this position is

$218,700.00 – $437,300.00

In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
