Position Overview

The Lead Investigator is primarily responsible for leading Sensitive Issue (SI) investigations across the Latin America region, including matters involving potential financial statement misstatements, asset misappropriation, conflicts of interest, expense reporting, and potential violations of Johnson & Johnson business conduct or other company policies. The role also supports compliance process reviews and other financial, compliance, or operational audit projects, as needed. This position requires close collaboration with internal stakeholders, attorneys, compliance partners, and third-party providers, while helping ensure engagements are delivered with quality, timeliness, and professionalism.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and execute SIs across Latin America, including planning procedures, assessing risk, managing timelines and budgets, coordinating fieldwork, and supporting the issuance of clear and well-substantiated reports.
  • Conduct and support compliance process reviews and other audit or special project work in areas such as anti-bribery and anti-corruption, healthcare compliance, financial controls, and operational effectiveness.
  • Analyze complex financial and non-financial information to identify trends, develop insights, and support conclusions and recommendations.
  • Communicate effectively with all levels of management, including senior leadership, on sensitive and complex matters, both verbally and in writing.
  • Partner closely with attorneys, compliance personnel, business stakeholders, and external service providers throughout investigations and reviews.
  • Manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment while maintaining strong organization, sound judgment, and attention to quality.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, including enhancements to audit methodology, investigation practices, analytics, reporting, and use of technology.
  • Support innovation by leveraging data analytics and new tools and techniques to improve efficiency, risk identification, and overall engagement outcomes.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s degree is required, preferably in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or another related business discipline.
  • Fluency in both Spanish and English is required.
  • An advanced degree and/or professional certification such as CPA, CIA, CMA, CISA, or CFE is preferred.
  • A minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in Internal Audit, Healthcare Compliance, Investigations, Public Accounting, or related fields is required.
  • Experience leading or supporting investigations, compliance reviews, or audits involving anti-bribery, anti-corruption, or other compliance-related risks is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including advanced Excel skills is required.
  • Experience with audit and analytics tools such as TeamMate, ACL, Power BI or Tableau is preferred.
  • Demonstrated understanding of AI concepts and frameworks, including awareness of responsible and ethical AI practices, and experience generating effective prompts to boost efficiency and productivity.
  • This position is based in São Paulo, Brazil or Bogotá, Colombia and may require up to 25% domestic and international travel.
