Pay Range
$30.70 - $46.05Performs technical level radiographic examinations under the direction of the Radiologist. Supervises radiology area assigned by leadership. Services diagnostic radiographic procedures with demonstrated proficiency utilizing radiation safety practices to produce a high-quality examination.
Major Responsibilities
Operates all radiographic equipment within the department, including correct and adequate anatomic positioning skills.
Performs and/or assists with radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures.
Checks requisition for physician notes and/or special instructions and consults with Radiologist and/or other physicians as necessary.
Obtains medications, radiopharmaceuticals, or contrast materials as directed for administration by a licensed practitioner, authorized/certified technologist, or registered nurse.
Confirms patient identification by checking armband and validates proof of identity.
Records patient medical history pertaining to specific procedure and documents on requisition.
Prepares and administers contrast media as required.
Assures that procedure rooms are adequately supplied.
Maintains patient medical records including closing orders, fixing exceptions, obtaining STAT readings, and verifying correct exam was sent to Stentor.
Coordinates daily activities and clerical duties.
Minimum Job Requirements
Education
Graduate of an institution accredited by an agency that ARRT recognizes in Radiologic Technology.
Certification / License
BLS required
Work Experience
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
Must meet all required elements of competency checklists for advancement level and have 2 years’ experience as Rad Tech I.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
Requires strenuous physical effort while assisting patients from wheelchairs and stretchers. Handles equipment and monitors supplies. May frequently be required to stretch, bend, twist, squat or kneel in operating all Radiographic equipment. Able to use hands for power gripping, speed work and precision during manipulation of radiographic equipment and in the case of injured and/or diseased patients. Vision and hearing for distances of up to 10 feet is necessary. Exposure to various physical conditions throughout the workday such as walking on hard surfaces, climbing stairs and being near moving equipment. Able to adapt to changes in temperature and humidity.
