Who we are looking for
The Japan IT Country head is responsible for all aspects of information technology for State Street Trust and Banking Co., Ltd. Japan. This person will be overseeing the management of technology service delivery for Japan which includes locally and globally provided services. The local teams are a matrix management structure covering the technology functions for IT project management, business analysis, resource demand management, desktop services, network, servers, storage, application development, application help desk, vendor applications and security administration. In addition to the day to day management of these functions this person will be responsible for ensuring the overall IT governance and leading the IT Steering Committee.
What you will be responsible for
As the senior IT member of the local executive leadership team a key responsibility is ensuring IT services are aligned to support the needs of business units and corporate functions in Japan. Specific areas of focus include:
Assisting the business in strategy formulation and aligning IT services to support the business strategy.
Managing multiple application development teams in the design, development, testing, and implementation of application software.
Providing technical oversight leadership and direction for multiple system design, development and implementation initiatives.
Working closely with technology teams to ensure the services provided are aligned with business needs and tracking delivery against agreed service levels.
Ensure projects are tracking to budget and plan.
Providing overall legal entity oversight for regulatory compliance related to all aspects of Information Technology.
Qualifications and Education
Provides strong leadership and strategic direction & support to Global Services and Information Technology by demonstrating the following skills and behaviors:
A solid working knowledge of the Asset Servicing Industry, its products and regulatory environment.
Strong communication skills(Oral and written)
Strong interpersonal and people management skills
Sustained and broad analyticaldecision-makingskills
An ability to think and act strategically
Sustained and broad staff and project management skillsand a proven track record in the delivery of major projects / programs
Sustained and broad leadership skills
Good executive presence and a recognized leader
Sustained and broad negotiation and relationship management skills
A thorough understanding of technology and/or business trends impacting their work
Experience with Japan regulatory and FSA inspection manual guidelines and organizational implementation
Fluent in business level Japanese, verbal and written
Fluent in English, verbal and written
