Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY:

The main responsibility for this position is to provide verbal and written translation support from English-Spanish-English, ensuring that the translated version conveys the meaning of the original visual graphic or verbal conversation as clearly as possible. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Translate written material from English to Spanish and/or Spanish to English, edit the wording as needed.
  • Research retail operations, HR, marketing, etc. to find the most appropriate translation.
  • Partner with internal clients to discuss any unclear points.
  • Proofread and edit final translated versions.
  • Provide internal clients with a grammatically correct, well-expressed final version of the translated text via the appropriate communication medium.
  • Provide “live” translation support during group meetings, one-on-one meetings, etc., including onboarding and training support.
  • Prioritize work to meet deadlines.
  • Uphold confidentiality when involved in sensitive conversations.
  • Other projects and responsibilities as assigned.
  • Must be able to work in all departments performing various functions of the Merchandise Processor position.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 2+ years’ experience teaching or translating English to Spanish
  • Ability to speak fluently in both English and Spanish
  • High degree of proficiency Google applications (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Gmail)
  • Strong organizational, prioritizing, interpersonal, problem-solving skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated collaborative skills and ability to work well within a team
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment
  • Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines and reporting

SKILLS:

  • Advanced knowledge and experience with Google applications
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills as well as presentation skills
  • Excellent organizational skills with ability to work well under pressure and deadlines
  • Ability to work well with others and a variety of communication styles and skills
  • Ability to take initiative and manage multiple projects to timely completion

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Lift, carry, push, pull, reach, grasp, bend and stack cartons for up to 10 hours at a time
  • Stand for long periods of time and walk continuously 
  • Pull merchandise from multiple levels of shelving or move merchandise as needed
  • Climb stairs and perform work at platform heights up to 60 feet
  • Lift up to 50lbs. Specific weight requirements may vary within each department
