Job Description

The BIM Specialist is a hands‑on technical role that supports live project delivery while also developing the long-term digital standards of the practice. This role blends independent problem‑solving with close collaboration across project teams and the BIM leadership group. You will contribute to the creation, management and continuous improvement of BIM content, templates, workflows and standards that support efficient design, documentation and delivery.


You will be responsible for developing and maintaining the practice content library and BIM standards, shaping how projects are modelled and coordinated. The role also involves training staff, resolving technical issues, and supporting the practice in meeting and maintaining ISO 19650 compliance. A passion for BIM, digital workflows and the value of standardisation is essential.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, manage and maintain Revit templates, families, shared parameters and the wider content library
  • Create simple and complex parametric families suitable for general practice use
  • Develop BIM workflows, including automation of routine tasks
  • Implement and manage quality assurance processes, including model checks and data validation
  • Create and maintain tools for data extraction and reporting
  • Troubleshoot BIM issues and support project teams in resolving model, workflow and coordination challenges
  • Provide training, guidance and best‑practice support to staff at all levels
  • Communicate content development and workflow changes to the wider practice
  • Contribute to custom tool development using Dynamo, Python, C#, or the Revit API
  • Assist in the setup, management and delivery of asset information models
  • Support the maintenance and implementation of ISO 19650 standards and documentation
  • Collaborate with the BIM Manager and BIM leadership team on strategic initiatives
  • Manage workload methodically and deliver tasks within agreed timelines


Skills and Experience

  • Minimum 4 years’ professional experience with expert‑level Revit skills, ideally within an architectural environment
  • Excellent understanding of architectural drawing production, LOD/LOI principles and model appropriateness
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to propose and implement new ideas
  • Solid understanding of CDE platforms such as BIM 360, ACC or Forma
  • Experience in scripting or programming (Dynamo, Python, C#, Revit API)
  • Good working knowledge of Navisworks, AutoCAD, SketchUp and Enscape
  • Experience working to ISO 19650 BIM standards
  • Strong collaboration skills and willingness to assist others
  • Clear communication skills, including the ability to support non-technical users
  • Excellent organisational skills and ability to work methodically to deadlines
