Job Description
An exciting opportunity to lead the development and delivery of a new Homelessness Day Centre, providing practical, person centred support to people experiencing rough sleeping or insecure housing.
This person will be responsible for establishing and developing the service, creating systems and partnerships, and managing day-to-day operations, ensuring the centre is safe, effective, and responsive to the needs of the beneficiaries.
This is a hands-on leadership role, combining service development, people management, safeguarding, and partnership working.
Service Development & Delivery
▸ Lead the creation and development of the Homelessness Support Day Centre, embedding our vision in everyday practice.
▸ Ensure services are accessible, inclusive and responsive to individual needs.
▸ Develop clear service boundaries, referral pathways and eligibility criteria.
▸ Monitor and review service delivery, adapting as the service grows.
Operational Management
▸ Oversee the day- to-day running of the centre, ensuring safe and welcoming operations.
▸ Develop and implement policies, procedures and risk assessments appropriate to the service and its beneficiaries
▸ Ensure compliance with Health & Safety, Safeguarding, and Data Protection requirements.
▸ Manage incidents, concerns and referrals appropriately.
▸ Manage budgets and resources working within agreed financial controls.
Team Management
▸ Recruit, induct, support and manage staff and volunteers
▸ Develop rotas, supervision and training plans
▸ Create a positive, supportive team culture
▸ Work with Senior Management to address performance, conduct and wellbeing issues in line with organisational policies. Partnership & Networking
▸ Build strong relationships with local authorities, housing providers, health services and other voluntary sector partners.
▸ Represent the organisation in meetings, networks and partnership forums.
▸ Support coordinated responses for individuals with complex needs.
Impact Reporting & Service Awareness
▸ Work with the Leadership Team to develop and maintain a project action plan and contribute to long-term service sustainability and growth objectives
▸ Work alongside the Fundraising Manager to identify key funding streams and opportunities and commit to funding requirements.
▸ Collect data and contribute to monitoring, evaluation and reporting
▸ Identify opportunities for service growth and improvement
Additional Information
▸ The role will involve direct contact with vulnerable adults and is subject to an Enhanced DBS
▸ Flexibility will be required to meet the needs of the service.
▸ Ongoing training and development will be supported.
