Scope: Responsible for the oversight and implementation of the International Trade Compliance (ITC) requirements for Kidde Global Solutions in China. Position reports to an ITC Director in Legal in the United States with a dotted line to Legal Counsel in China.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist the businesses located in China with China Customs requirements including, but not limited to,: assistance in responding to auditing, valuation, tariff classification, and export controls
Report to HQ any new local regulatory requirements impacting the business
Participate in global duty mitigation efforts
Provide guidance and help create, where needed, operational import procedures and standard work
Oversee the Customs brokers and manage SOPs and reporting from brokers
Report to HQ any risks or opportunities for disclosures and work with the business to put corrective actions in place
Conduct ITC audits of the businesses
Support the global denied party screening platform through performing manual screening and reviewing screening escalations and resolutions
Provide local training on HQ requirements as well as local requirements
Work to improve ITC data integrity and ERP updates of data
Support global ITC record retention requirements
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree required
Ability to interpret and apply complex regulations
5 years minimum of related experience
Established knowledge and interpretation of import regulations and operational requirements
Ability to work with minimal supervision, as well as collaborate with team
Self-motivated, strong work ethic, and able to balance multiple projects in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Licensed Customs Broker, or equivalent certification preferred
Experience managing 3rd party providers
Proficiency in Microsoft Applications, Teams, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook, and SharePoint
