Job Summary

Job Description

  • Leads all general Medicaid eligibility training and hands‐on assistance for the Medicaid and Medicaid Long Term Care staff through seminars and classes pertaining to Medicaid’s policies and procedures for the different State Medicaid offices and sections.
  • Ensures venues are secured for all eligibility specialized classes and workshops. Travels overnight as needed to training sites, helps set up and tear-down training workstation as needed.
  • Reviews training material that is assembled
  • Leads in the development and training of seminars and courses regarding Medicaid policies and procedures, which includes online courses and courses conducted via webinar.
  • Ensures current training rosters and attendance is updated and maintained.
  • Ensures training materials accurately reflect current Medicaid policy and procedure.
  • Assists unit manager in the coordination of all Medicaid policy and procedure trainings, seminars and course development, which includes online courses and courses conducted via webinar.
  • Develops and maintains technical skills and training skills. Recommends self-development and professional development courses to junior team members
  • Attends and contributes to Medicaid meetings as needed and perform other tasks as directed.
  • Trains and assists in presentation of special topics seminars and classes as requested by state officials to enhance employees’ course development.
  • Trains and supervises Training Coordinator 1, 2 & 3, which includes providing orientation, evaluation of job tasks and technical assistance to team members.
  • Assists other trainers with problems and issues that arise. Ensures any issues are resolved.
  • Assists management with assessment of the departmental needs.
  • Assists with developing and conducting surveys to determine the training needs of Medicaid employees.
  • Assists in assignments to staff regarding all Medicaid policy and procedure trainings, seminars and course development, which includes online courses and courses conducted via webinar. Reviews all assignments for accuracy.
  • Collaborates in decisions and assists in adding courses to the system, scheduling courses, updating material and performing administrative LMS tasks in the system.
  • May perform the functions of the unit manager, including training in their absence.
  • Conducts quality control review of subordinates work.
  • Conducts an annual performance evaluation for each subordinate, setting future goals and strategies.
  • Conducts recruitment, selection, training, supervision, and professional development of assigned staff.
  • Other tasks as directed.

QUALIFICATIONS
REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor’s Degree, or Associates degree with 3 years professional experience, or 6 years professional experience in lieu of the degree.
  • Minimum 4 years professional experience in public speaking, presentation and/or training environment.
  • Minimum 4 years professional experience with project or program coordination.
  • Minimum 2 years professional supervisory experience.
  • Excellent analytical skills, effective organizational and time management skills.
  • Great attention to detail and follow up.
  • Ability to manage projects, assignments, and competing priorities.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, including but not limited to Outlook, Word, and Excel.

DESIRED:

  • Advanced degree.
  • Minimum 5 years professional experience in public speaking, presentation and/or training environment.
  • Minimum 5 years professional experience with project or program coordination.
  • Minimum 4 years professional experience working with Louisiana Medicaid Policies & Procedures.
  • Minimum 3 years professional supervisory experience.

SALARY: 65-75k
