Key job responsibilities
• Lead design for safety and DFMEA during product development.
• Develop reliability test plans including resource allocation, validation schedules, and test scope definition.
• Execute validation activities per the test plan, with flexible adjustments based on emerging issues and debugging needs.
• Report reliability execution progress and issues; track issues from identification through closure.
• Lead failure analysis, DOEs, and root cause investigations to drive issue resolution during product development.
• Evaluate and develop reliability test methodologies to reduce test time and increase test coverage.
• Assess reliability risks and escalate to leadership as appropriate.
• Lead second-source qualification and support factory escalations; collaborate with cross-functional teams and leverage their resources.
• Qualify components manufactured throughout China.
• Support US reliability testing needs from prototype through post-production.
• Travel extensively within China and Asia to support testing activities.
• Travel to the US for training and cross-team collaboration.

- 4+ years of working in mechanical engineering or equivalent experience
- Experience with prototyping and implementation
- Experience in new hardware product development
- Experience using English communication skills, both written and verbal, to foster seamless interaction with stakeholders at all levels
- Experience in root cause analysis and troubleshooting or problem solving
- Experience driving direction and alignment with cross-functional teams
- Bachelor's degree or above in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Material Engineering, Reliability Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience with a Bachelor's degree, or 4+ years with a Master's degree or above, in reliability or hardware development for consumer-centric products.
- Experience in the design of complex mechanical products and equipment at volume
- Knowledge of SolidWorks simulation or Ansys Finite Element analysis tools
- Experience that includes strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and effective communication abilities, or experience in technical support and experience troubleshooting and debugging technical systems
- Experience managing multiple projects and priorities across teams in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Experience developing and executing test procedures for mechanical or electrical systems/components based on design intent and approved equipment submissions
