The Role:
The Lead Engineer, Automation and Control (A&C), is responsible for delivering effective manufacturing automation solutions for the Fluid Management (FM) division at the Kaohsiung KSP-S site, reporting directly to the System Engineering Manager. This position plays a critical role in supporting FM manufacturing at the KSP-S site through the design, implementation, and ownership of robust automation and IoT systems. By combining expertise in control systems, manufacturing systems integration, and IT/OT technologies, the Lead Engineer drives improvements in A&C system stability, operational visibility, and overall equipment effectiveness. These solutions enable actionable manufacturing insights, reduce downtime, enhance product quality, and deliver sustainable, measurable business results.
In this role you will:
A&C System Ownership: Oversee and maintain the existing manufacturing A&C system within FM at the KSP-S site. Implement standardized manufacturing A&C solutions across the FM division by leveraging industry best practices and learnings from other Entegris sites. Identify system performance bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and deviations, and develop actionable insights to drive measurable improvements in overall system performance.
Project Leadership: Manage A&C requests from users and deliver solutions that meet their requirements. Coordinate internal and external resources. Promote manufacturing A&C initiatives. Manage continuous improvement and capital projects related to A&C solutions, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.
Documentation & Knowledge Management: Administer system archiving, documentation, and drawings, ensuring the accuracy, quality, and traceability of all changes. Develop detailed step-by-step instructions for system acceptance, validation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
System Integrity and Compliance: Ensure system accessibility and security, and maintain interfaces with other manufacturing applications such as SAP, SPC, and MES to uphold data integrity. Ensure full compliance with corporate and industry standards throughout the system lifecycle.
Performance Monitoring & Reporting: Report and track key performance indicators (KPIs), ensure sustained results, and identify further improvement opportunities.
Less than 10% travel is required.
Traits we believe make a strong candidate:
Bachelor’s degree in Automation and Control Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field
10+ years of experience in manufacturing automation (preferred)
3+ years of experience in the injection molding or blow molding industry (a plus)
Proven experience leading automation projects and working with cross‑functional teams.
Strong knowledge of IoT and Industry 4.0 technologies, SCADA applications, Python programming, and SQL scripting
Understanding of SPC tools, Management of Change (MOC), and New Product Introduction (NPI)
Proficient in English communication
