Are you a problem-solver at heart? Do you thrive on improving systems, boosting efficiency, and driving quality? McElroy Manufacturing is looking for a Manufacturing Engineer who’s ready to roll up their sleeves and make a tangible impact on how we build our products—and our future.
What You’ll Do
You’ll be at the heart of our operations, where innovation meets execution. As a Manufacturing Engineer, you’ll analyze and optimize our assembly and production processes, ensuring that we deliver top-tier quality—on time and on budget.
This role is ideal for an engineer who enjoys balancing hands-on manufacturing support with long-term process improvement initiatives. You’ll own projects from concept through implementation and play a key role in scaling production capability.
Your mission includes:
- Maximizing throughput & quality: Analyze operations and recommend improvements to make our processes leaner, faster, and better.
- Leading process improvement: Own projects that reduce costs and elevate productivity across assembly operations.
- Driving documentation excellence: Create and maintain critical documentation like Process Control Plans, Work Center Layouts, and SOPs.
- Supporting new product launches: Work with engineering and operations teams to ensure smooth transitions from prototype to the assembly floor.
Your Core Focus Areas
Quality (Lead Role)
- Identify issues and manage countermeasures to drive world-class quality.
- Recommend training or improvements as needed.
- Lead process audits and suggest engineering changes that boost product integrity.
Delivery (Support Role)
- Design and implement assembly processes for new and existing products.
- Conduct time studies and help reduce cycle times.
- Assist in component changes, material flow, and scheduling coordination.
Cost & Productivity (Lead Role)
- Spearhead projects that make us more efficient and cost-effective.
- Drive plant layout changes, evaluate new equipment, and lead tooling upgrades.
- Champion continuous improvement in every corner of the shop floor.
Safety & Team Coordination (Support Role)
- Promote a culture of safety and compliance across all processes.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with assembly, engineering, and warehouse teams.
What Success Looks Like
- You become the go-to expert for your assigned segment.
- You drive measurable improvements in throughput, first-pass yield, labor efficiency, and assembly cycle time.
- You own the implementation of new product lines—start to finish.
- You proactively tackle process inefficiencies and solve problems before they arise.
What You Bring to the Table
- Education: BS in Manufacturing or Mechanical Engineering.
- Tools of the Trade: Solid experience with Word, Excel, Outlook, & CAD required with a high proficiency in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and ERP Systems preferred.
- Background: Experience applying Lean Manufacturing concepts such as 5S, Kaizen, waste reduction, and root cause analysis in a production environment.
- Mindset: Detail-oriented, hands-on, proactive, and ready to lead – able to identify issues, take ownership, and drive solutions independently
- Additional Qualifications: Willingness to travel (domestic/international) and work flexible hours as needed.
What You Can Expect from Us
- Regular time spent on the production floor troubleshooting issues, implementing process improvements, and working directly with assembly teams.
- A dynamic team focused on innovation and collaboration.
- Opportunities for growth and professional development.
- A strong commitment to quality, safety, and continuous improvement.
- The chance to leave your mark on high-impact projects.
