What We'll Bring:
ROLE OVERVIEWThe Head – Growth, Marketing & Alternate Data will lead three interconnected mandates across a single portfolio:
● Building TransUnion INDAS’s brand presence and market voice
● Sourcing, engaging and onboarding alternate data partners that power INDAS’s credit intelligence capabilities
● Collaborating with internal business teams on solution consulting and commercial engagements
This is a client facing, execution heavy role with direct accountability to senior leadership.
What You'll Bring:
01 Brand, Marketing & Market Presence
This pillar covers the full spectrum of how TransUnion INDAS presents itself — to partners, clients, the broader financial services ecosystem, and the public. The goal is to build a credible, visible, and strategically positioned brand in a fast-evolving alternate data market.
- Own and manage TransUnion INDAS's digital and brand footprint, including the corporate website, partner-facing content, and thought leadership assets.
- Lead end-to-end planning and execution of marketing events, industry forums, roundtables, and conferences where INDAS participates or organizes — ensuring cohesive representation of the INDAS brand at every touchpoint.
- Develop and publish content that educates the market on the value of alternate data in credit decisioning: articles, white papers, case study frameworks, and executive communications.
- Coordinate with the broader TransUnion marketing organization to localize global campaigns and ensure alignment between INDAS-specific messaging and enterprise brand standards.
- Drive communications strategy, including spokesperson preparation, media interactions, and partner-facing narrative development.
- Manage external vendors — creative, digital, events — with full accountability for quality, budget, and timelines.
02 Alternate Data Partner Development & Onboarding
India's credit ecosystem is being redefined by the richness of non-traditional data — from digital payment behaviours and utility bill histories to delivery platform activity and gig income streams. TransUnion INDAS is building an alternate data layer that sits at the core of next-generation credit profiling for thin-file and new-to-credit consumers. This pillar is the engine of that effort.
- Engage a curated pipeline of identified alternate data prospects — digital platforms, utility providers, e-commerce players, fintech companies, and gig economy networks — to help them understand and unlock the commercial value of their data assets.
- Lead consultative outreach to prospective data partners: present the INDAS data monetization framework, articulate the value exchange, and build conviction through use-case demonstration and ROI modeling.
- Structure commercial arrangements on an OpEx, use-case-driven basis — acquiring data in response to specific client or product needs rather than through fixed long-term commitments — ensuring cost efficiency and flexibility.
- Manage end-to-end partner onboarding: coordinate with Legal, Compliance, Technology, and Data teams to ensure data integration, consent frameworks, and regulatory alignment (including RBI guidelines on data usage and privacy).
- Maintain an active partner registry — tracking data availability, contractual terms, data refresh cycles, and partner relationship health — to enable rapid activation when client use cases arise.
- Continuously evaluate new alternate data categories and emerging data asset classes to expand the breadth and predictive power of TransUnion INDAS's credit intelligence layer.
03 Solution Consulting & Commercial Collaboration (~10%)
A focused but meaningful portion of this role involves working alongside internal business teams to support client-facing engagements and solution-based selling.
- Collaborate with the Marketing Solutions and Data Analytics teams to participate in client meetings, solution workshops, and commercial conversations where alternate data and marketing intelligence intersect.
- Provide subject matter input on alternate data capabilities during client discovery, proposal development, and solution design processes.
- Identify cross-sell and co-creation opportunities at the intersection of INDAS's data partnerships and TransUnion's broader product portfolio.
Impact You'll Make:
WHY THIS ROLE MATTERS
India has one of the world's largest populations of credit-invisible individuals — young professionals, gig workers, self-employed entrepreneurs, and first-time borrowers who are creditworthy but undetectable by traditional scoring. Alternate data changes that equation fundamentally.
- When combined with traditional credit data and AI-driven models, alternate data signals — from mobile usage to utility payments to e-commerce behaviour — can significantly improve approval rates for thin-file customers while keeping risk well-calibrated.
- Regulatory tailwinds, including the Account Aggregator framework, OCEN, and evolving RBI guidelines on responsible data use, are creating the right conditions for mainstream adoption of alternate data in Indian lending.
- The person in this role will help determine how quickly that adoption happens — and how much of that market TransUnion INDAS owns.
WHAT YOU WILL BRING
- 12+ years of experience across business development, brand/marketing leadership, strategic partnerships, or market development — ideally within financial services, fintech, data/analytics, or a platform-driven business.
- Demonstrated ability to build and manage external partner relationships with commercial accountability — not just relationship management, but deal structuring and onboarding.
- Familiarity with India's alternate data and credit ecosystem: fintech platforms, Account Aggregator, utility data, gig economy income signals, and emerging data sources.
- Hands-on experience managing marketing operations — events, digital properties, content, vendor relationships — with an eye for brand quality and commercial impact.
- Strong communicator with executive presence: able to engage data partners, internal stakeholders, and senior leadership with equal clarity and credibility.
- Comfort operating in a build-phase environment — ambiguity, rapid iteration, and cross-functional coordination are the norm, not the exception.
- MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred; undergraduate degree in business, economics, marketing, or a related field required.
IMPACT YOU WILL MAKE
- Position TransUnion INDAS as a visible, credible brand in India's alternate data and financial inclusion ecosystem within the first year.
- Build a live, activatable pipeline of alternate data partners that can be deployed against client use cases on demand.
- Create a lean, scalable marketing and brand engine that amplifies INDAS's presence across events, digital channels, and thought leadership platforms.
- Contribute meaningfully to TransUnion India's revenue growth by enabling smarter credit decisioning for clients serving India's underserved borrower segments.
