Job Description

Assessment Coordination of Threats/Risks: Collaborate with the Chair and university departments to develop safety and contingency plans for ongoing case safety plans. Review new cases and prioritize them based on the level of threat or risk involved. Conduct follow-ups on assigned cases to gather additional information and assess the situation. Guidance Communication: Support the Chair in organizing community training and awareness programs to support community members in recognizing potential threats or seriously concerning behaviors. Communicate with stakeholders and potential individuals impacted by the threat to ensure they are aware of the risks, best practices, and available options. Provide consultation and support for education and awareness efforts regarding Workplace Violence Prevention. Provide consultation and support to victims/witnesses, including reporting follow-up and referrals to appropriate resources. Other Responsibilities: Participate in and organize planning meetings, status meetings, and other meetings as needed. Other Responsibilities as assigned. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Teams, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel), Google Suites, Adobe Acrobat, and comfort utilizing other relevant software such as Advocate Simplicity. Knowledge of threat assessment and case management in a higher educational setting. Knowledge and understanding of violence prevention and intervention techniques. Strong knowledge and understanding of interpersonal and targeted violence. Ability to work across multiple departments, with various administrators, faculty, staff, students, and other community members. Ability to act independently in a dynamic and demanding environment; resolve escalated issues utilizing knowledge or procedures and exercise discretion and good judgment, upholding the highest level of confidentiality. Interpersonal skills to provide high quality assistance to University of Arizona employees. Effective problem solving, decision-making and analytical and organizational skills and collaboration and coordination with other staff, law enforcement, courts, and mental health professionals. Strong analytical and organizational skills to manage a range of non-routine projects, with close attention to detail and project follow-through.
