Summary:
We’re looking for a detail-oriented Purchaser (Buyer) to manage purchase orders, supplier follow-ups, and inventory availability for both local and international suppliers. You’ll work daily with JDE (JD Edwards), StockIQ, and JIMS to plan demand, place orders, expedite deliveries, and support internal stakeholders with timely and accurate purchasing execution.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Create, review, and release purchase orders in JDE (JD Edwards) and maintain accurate purchasing records.
Use StockIQ (or demand/inventory planning tool) to support replenishment, forecasts, and reorder recommendations.
Work in JIMS to support purchasing workflows and coordination with internal teams.
Manage supplier communication (pricing, lead times, availability, MOQs, backorders, substitutions).
Expedite delayed orders and proactively resolve supply issues to protect service levels.
Coordinate with internal stakeholders (receiving, logistics, technicians, CSRs, sales/operations) to ensure correct priorities and on-time supply.
Validate vendor confirmations, shipping details, and documentation (commercial invoices, packing lists, customs-related info when applicable).
Maintain accurate item and supplier data (lead times, minimums, pricing, supplier part numbers) and support master-data improvements.
Support cost control: negotiate within guidelines, identify alternates, and flag price increases.
Follow internal purchasing policies and compliance requirements.
Minimum Requirements:
2+ years experience in purchasing / procurement / buying (distribution, manufacturing, service parts, or MRO is a plus).
Comfortable working with ERP/MRP systems (experience with JDE/JD Edwards and StockIQ strongly preferred).
Strong follow-up skills with suppliers and ability to manage multiple open priorities.
Excellent attention to detail (quantities, pricing, lead times, shipping terms).
Strong communication skills (email + phone) and professional supplier relationship management.
Proficiency with Excel (filters, lookups, basic analysis).
Nice-to-have:
Experience buying from international suppliers (currency, Incoterms, freight, customs documentation).
Knowledge of service parts, electronics parts, industrial/MRO items, or technical products.
Bilingual French/English (if relevant for your workplace).
