Position Title: Patient Access Specialist
Location: Upland Hills Health - Dodgeville Hospital Campus
Role & Department: Patient Access Specialist in the Patient Access Department
Hours & Shift: Part-time (.3 FTE) day/evening shift, every other weekend work schedule (shift times are 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.) and every fourth holiday rotation.
Role Responsibilities:
- Patient Access Specialists will verify all patient information and admit patients as applicable
- Will complete full insurance verifications
- Receives and disperses all incoming and outgoing communications
- Gives information and directions to the general public regarding Upland Hills Health and Upland Hills Nursing and Rehab Center
- Handles the incoming calls at the UHH switchboard
- Will work primarily at the Emergency Department/Urgent Care Registration desk and may occasionally work at the Main Admissions Desk
Qualifications:
- Candidates must have excellent communication, organizational, multitasking and computer skills
- Prefer one year of past work experience in a hospital or clinic setting
- Prior EPIC EMR experience is very beneficial
- Third party insurance experience preferred
- Ability to work with all contacts using good customer service relation skills
