NOW HIRING! Line Cook, Victoria. We are seeking experienced line cooks with a passion for quality food to join our amazing team! The ideal candidate will have experience in a fast-paced environment and have a strong focus on quality and execution. Located on the seaplane docks of Victoria’s beautiful Inner Harbour at 950 Wharf Street, the Flying Otter Grill offers diners amazing west coast food, a relaxed atmosphere and incredible views! 

Responsibilities and Expectations 

• Check food and ingredients for freshness 
• Prepare and cook food according to quality standards 
• Ensure that kitchen area, equipment and utensils are cleaned 
• Monitor food quality during food preparation 
• Proper use and knowledge of all foodstuffs, equipment, chemicals, and procedures 
• Perform other duties as assigned 
• Maintain high personal standards, including wearing proper attire, maintaining a clean and professional appearance, and working in a safe, clean, efficient organized manner Food prep (sauces, vegetables, fruits, etc) 

Qualifications/Assets 

• Food Safe certificate required
•  Previous kitchen experience, an asset 
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively 
• Ability to move, lift, carry, push, pull up to 11.5 kilograms(25 pounds) without assistance 
• Must be self-motivated and possess a high level of energy
•  Must have strong organizational skills and display high attention to detail 
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize assignments in a fast-paced environment • Must have a passion for food and a willingness to learn 
• Ability to be an effective member of a team
•  Ability to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
