Associate/Assistant Director, Insurance Market Development

[What the role is]
Singapore is recognised as Asia's leading reinsurance and specialty insurance centre. You will be part of a team that builds on this foundation by developing and executing strategies to strengthen Singapore's insurance ecosystem, including:(i) Expand the base of insurance players and pipeline of solutions to serve growing risks in the region, such as climate and cyber;
(ii) Promote the development of the alternative risk transfer market, including insurance linked securities and government risk pools;
(iii) Support talent development in the insurance industry; and
(iv) Deepen analytics and innovation capabilities in Singapore to address large and complex risks.
[What you will be working on]
Monitor trends in global insurance and reinsurance markets, assess their implications for Singapore's competitive positioning, and translate this into actionable developmental strategies.
Drive engagements and co-create initiatives with key insurers, reinsurers, brokers, regional governments and multilateral institutions to identify opportunities to grow Singapore's market, originate new activities, and anchor insurance capabilities and infrastructure here.
Formulate legal and regulatory frameworks relating to insurance activities, and expand the pool of specialised service providers to deepen the supporting ecosystem.
Promote Singapore as a leading insurance hub to global partners, and support MAS’ participation in international forums to advance Singapore's standing in shaping regional and global market developments.
[What we are looking for]
Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills – with comfort operating across developmental, regulatory and commercial dimensions, and engaging across a wide range of stakeholders including government agencies, industry players and multilateral institutions
Strong team player who is proactive and motivated, and thrives in a fast-paced environment
Fresh graduates as well as candidates with relevant experience in the insurance industry or public service are welcome to apply
