Job Description

Your tasks will include

eAgronom is a leader in sustainable development and carbon offset projects, driving innovation in agriculture and environmental conservation. Our mission is to implement impactful solutions that address climate change and promote sustainable agriculture. We are seeking a skilled and passionate Project Manager to lead our Verra VM0042 compliant agriculture projects in Africa and Europe. This position will oversee the successful planning, execution, and monitoring of agriculture projects compliant with the Verra VM0042 methodology and eAgronom project descriptions.

You'll be responsible for:
Project Planning & Execution

  • Plan and manage Verra VM0042-compliant agriculture projects by defining clear business requirements, developing detailed project plans, timelines, and budgets, and ensuring adherence to compliance standards. Monitor performance, mitigate risks, and streamline operations by automating recurring tasks to improve efficiency and ensure timely project delivery.

Compliance & Documentation

  • Oversee all aspects of Verra certification, including preparing and submitting project design documents (PDDs) and monitoring reports. Lead the validation and verification process with third-party auditors and manage updates to PDDs as needed, ensuring alignment with Verra standards and business objectives.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Work closely with farmers and local communities to implement sustainable practices and provide technical support and training. Foster relationships with key stakeholders, including modellers, Verra representatives, and auditors, to ensure project success.

Data Collection & Analysis

  • Support data collection, validation, and analysis for key project metrics, such as carbon sequestration and eligibility of farmers and fields. Ensure all data aligns with Verra requirements and prepare comprehensive reports and presentations for stakeholders.

Soil sampling & Analysis

  • Lead the planning of a sampling campaign in cooperation with the compliance team. Organise tenders to select soil sampling partners for all countries and manage soil sampling campaigns in cooperation with eAgronom local business teams and soil samplers. Ensure all samples align with Verra and laboratory requirements. 

Communication & Continuous Improvement

  • Ensure effective communication, mentorship, and coordination across departments. Continuously seek opportunities to improve project outcomes and processes, stay informed on developments in carbon markets and sustainable agriculture, and refine best practices for efficient Verra credit issuance.

Must-haves

  • You have a degree in Environmental Science, Agriculture, Sustainability, or a related field.

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in project management, with at least 2 years managing sustainability projects.

  • Good understanding of Verra VM0042 methodology and certification processes is a bonus.

  • Experience in sustainable agriculture or land-use projects is highly desirable.

  • Proficient in data analysis and reporting.

  • Knowledge of carbon accounting and monitoring methodologies.

  • Strong organizational and time management abilities.

  • You're located in Estonia, or are willing to relocate. 

Nice-to-haves

  • PMP or similar project management certification is a plus.

  • Training or certification in Verra standards is an advantage.
