Position Purpose |

The Medical Surgical Licensed Practical Nurse/Graduate Practical Nurse consistently performs his/her duties demonstrating an understanding of the essential job functions as reflected in the Medical Surgical Licensed Practical Nurse/Graduate Practical Nurse job description, department and hospital policies, and regulatory guidelines. Utilize the nursing process to provide quality patient care under the supervision of the registered nurse. |

Experience/Specialized Skills/Aptitudes Clinical expertise, teaching/instructing, clerical accuracy, communication skills, listening abilities, independent thinking/sound judgment; ability to deal with stress, able to react to emergency and crisis situations, committed to quality of care. |

Licenses/Certificates: Current PA Practice Permit/ Practical Nurse license BLS required must be completed prior to the end of orientation period |
