Pay Range: $60,000 - $86,000 per year

UNCOMN is seeking a Software Tester 4 (Senior, Automation) to:
- Design, execute, and support automated testing for application, API, integration, and regression scenarios.
- Build and maintain test assets that improve quality gates within CI/CD and controlled release workflows.
- Collaborate with developers, analysts, and delivery leads to define test coverage and acceptance support needs.
- Support smoke testing, defect reproduction, root-cause collaboration, and release validation across environments.
- Document test results and help maintain quality evidence that supports traceable delivery.
- Promote repeatable testing practices that improve release confidence and reduce rework.
This position description outlines the core duties for this role, but it is not all-inclusive. Responsibilities may shift based on contract requirements, mission needs, or organizational objectives.
Requirements
- 8+ years of related experience.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, Computer Science, CMIS, or a related field from an accredited college or university, or 4 additional years of related experience.
- Hands-on experience with software testing, quality engineering, or test automation.
- Experience supporting regression, API, integration, or end-to-end testing in structured delivery environments.
- Ability to work closely with developers and analysts to improve test coverage and release quality.
- Experience documenting results, triaging issues, and supporting defect resolution.
- Strong communication and organizational skills with a detail-oriented mindset.
- Must be eligible to obtain a Secret clearance or similar, granted by the U.S. Government, which requires U.S. citizenship. The government also uses 13 adjudicative guidelines to determine an individual's eligibility.
- Must be willing to obtain relevant certifications as required by future client or contract needs.
Preferred
- Experience integrating test automation into CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience supporting cloud-based applications, interfaces, or modernization efforts.
- Exposure to regulated environments where traceability and release evidence matter.
- Candidates local to the St. Louis Metro East market/within commuting distance preferred, although not required.
