Electrical Estimator – Industrial / MEP Construction

Duties and Responsibilities:
· Prepare detailed quantity takeoffs and cost estimates from construction drawings, specifications, and bid documents for electrical systems.
· Develop complete estimates including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor pricing, ensuring alignment with project scope and schedule requirements.
· Collaborate with project management, operations, fabrication, and project controls teams to validate scope, constructability, and execution strategy.
· Solicit, evaluate, and assemble vendor and subcontractor pricing, ensuring competitiveness and completeness of all bid components.
· Participate in scope reviews, risk identification, and value engineering efforts to support competitive and accurate proposals.
· Prepare, present, and support change order proposals, including detailed cost breakdowns and coordination with clients for approval.
· Maintain strong relationships with suppliers, subcontractors, and clients to support ongoing business development and project success.
Skills and Qualifications:
· Strong ability to interpret electrical construction drawings, specifications, and project documents.
· Proficiency with estimating software (Accubid, Autobid, or similar) and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
· Strong communication, organizational, and analytical skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities.
· Ability to work collaboratively across teams while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
· Comfortable working in fast-paced, deadline-driven bid environments with shifting priorities.
Education and Experience:
· Minimum 3+ years of experience in electrical estimating within industrial or MEP construction.
· Experience preparing estimates for complex electrical systems, including power distribution, switchgear, controls, and mission-critical infrastructure.
· Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or related field, or equivalent industry experience.
Preferred Experience:
· Experience supporting hyperscale data center, mission-critical, or advanced industrial construction projects is strongly preferred.
· Experience estimating electrical scopes for large-scale, fast-track projects with high coordination requirements.
· Familiarity with EPC or design-build project environments, including integrated MEP scopes and multi-discipline coordination.
· Established relationships with electrical subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors within the region or industry.
