Director of Retail Sales
Department: Sales
Employment Type: Full Time
Location: Pittsburgh, PA
Compensation: $200,000 - $230,000 / year
Description
Responsibilities
- Own the end-to-end launch of new retail and mall locations, from identifying and qualifying prospective partners and negotiating agreements to operational onboarding and go-live.
- Build and manage the retail program infrastructure by coordinating across finance, operations, marketing, software development, and fulfillment to ensure each location is set up to perform.
- Develop and maintain financial models and business cases to support location decisions, pricing strategy, partner negotiations, and ongoing profitability tracking including unit economics, capture rates, and breakage estimates.
- Track and optimize channel performance through KPIs such as sales uplift, customer acquisition costs, and ROI, and drive adjustments based on results.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements including escheatment, consumer protection laws, and sales tax obligations, and fulfill partner reporting commitments on schedule.
- At least two to three new retail or mall partner agreements signed or in advanced stages of negotiation, demonstrating active pipeline development.
- A documented launch playbook covering partner onboarding, operational setup, and go-live process, with at least one location live or on a confirmed launch timeline.
- A validated financial model for the retail channel — including unit-level P&L, capture rate assumptions, and a 12-month revenue projection — reviewed and aligned with finance and leadership.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in program management, channel development, or commercial operations within financial services, consumer technology, or retail operations.
- Demonstrated track record of launching and scaling a new channel, program, or commercial initiative, including negotiating and managing external partnerships.
- Comfortable working with financial models and owning performance metrics — able to interpret P&Ls, unit economics, and revenue projections to make and support decisions.
- Ability to lead cross-functional execution across operations, technology, finance, and marketing without direct authority over those teams.
- Strong communicator who can build credibility with external retail partners and align internal stakeholders around a shared plan.
