Job Description
The CMM Programmer/Operator is responsible for the creation of Calypso CMM programs to meet the specifications of various aerospace precision parts.
Primary Responsibilities
Operates CMM to operational specifications.
Designs, develops, and edits programs with Calypso software
Calibrates probe systems, defines datum(s) on part/gage and performs all required measurements.
Coordinates inspection of print layout and design
Verifies the dimensional accuracy of all manufactured products against print specifications and performs and records the results of internal equipment calibrations.
Reviews prints thoroughly with assigned bench hands, taking into account tolerance blocks and customer specifications. Also, considers fit, form, and function.
Reports all discrepancies to the Quality Director
Conducts GR&R Studies when requested
Assists in repeatability or correlation troubleshooting when requested.
Works with the machinist to discuss the results of each part and go over any changes that might be needed
Education and Experience
Certification through a CMM training course (Calypso Basic, Advanced Calypso)
Experience with aerospace and tight tolerance parts
Experience with First Article Inspection process
Minimum 3 years experience writing CMM programs (preferably with Calypso software)
Strong knowledge of GD&T
Experience with fixture gages
Machining and or gear experience is a plus
Rotary table with GearPro experience a plus
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
May be asked to lift up to 50 pounds.
Ability to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time, walking, twisting, and stooping during a fully scheduled shift.
