Job Description

The Role

The Project Consultant is a senior analytical and project delivery role within SLR Better Mining. The role combines advanced data analysis, project coordination, stakeholder engagement, and support to project implementation teams.

Project Consultants work closely with Project Managers to support the delivery of Better Mining programmes, including the implementation of monitoring and traceability systems, data analysis and reporting, stakeholder engagement, and the development of client deliverables.

A core aspect of the role is transforming complex monitoring and traceability data into clear insights and recommendations. The role therefore requires advanced Excel and analytical skills, combined with strong communication and presentation capability.

Project Consultants are also expected to support and guide more junior team members, contribute to the quality and consistency of project delivery, and help strengthen Better Mining systems and methodologies.

Given the public visibility and credibility of Better Mining’s work, the role requires strong professional integrity and sound judgment. Project Consultants are expected to identify, report, and escalate any suspected unethical practices, fraud, contamination risks, or irregularities observed within monitored supply chains.

The role is suited to individuals who are proactive, intellectually curious, organised, and comfortable working in complex and fast-moving environments with increasing levels of independence and responsibility.

Location

The role may be based in a Better Mining programme country and may require periodic travel to mine sites, supply chain locations, and stakeholder meetings.
