Extended School Year (ESY) Services

Special Education: Non-Licensed Staff

• Hiring non-licensed educational assistants to work at Extended School Year program sites located at:
  • New Hope Learning Center
  • Robbinsdale Middle School
  • Armstrong High School
  • Robbinsdale Transition Center
• Please review the location hours for staff carefully and rank programs accordingly
• Hourly rate based on Education Assistants' Collective Bargaining Agreement
• No additional benefits in this part-time position; no sick leave or personal leave

Dates:

• June 8 - June 18, 2026

Essential Functions:

• Monitor and assist students as needed in daily routines
• Initiate and follow through with behavioral interventions in an appropriate manner
• Communicate with teacher regarding student progress/behavior/special needs
• Collect data and provide follow-through for learning activities
• Assist with materials preparation as directed by the teacher
• Accompany, assist, and monitor students, as needed
• Assist with busing and meals for students
• Assist with students requiring assistance while eating, toileting, or with behavior management
• Assist with lifting and positioning of students if directed
• Interact with students in a polite, caring, and respectful manner
• Maintain high standards of ethical behavior and confidentiality of student information
• Work cooperatively with staff, students and parents

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Previous experience as an EA preferred
• Able to attend work regularly and report to work on time

Staff Hours per Location

All positions have an additional 3 hours for planning/setup time:

• 1 hours meeting on June 5, 2026
• 2 hours for setup/reading IEPs/getting visuals/data collection ready
