Job Summary
The Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) supports the educational process by promoting positive behavioral change in students through assessment, consultation, and evidence-based interventions. This position collaborates with students, families, teachers, administrators, and related service providers to develop and implement behavior support plans, analyze student data, provide staff training, and monitor progress toward student goals. The BCBA plays a key role in fostering safe, supportive learning environments while ensuring compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and professional standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Behavioral Assessment and Intervention
- Assessment Administration: Conduct functional behavior assessments, behavioral evaluations, and other assessments to identify student needs and develop appropriate intervention plans.
- Behavior Planning: Develop, implement, and monitor behavior intervention plans and individualized supports designed to improve student outcomes.
- Progress Monitoring: Analyze behavioral and academic data to assess student progress and make recommendations for instructional and behavioral supports.
- Collaboration and Communication
- Collaboration: Collaborate with teachers, administrators, therapists, social workers, families, and community agencies to improve student outcomes and achieve educational goals.
- Family Communication: Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress, behavioral supports, and intervention strategies.
- Consultation: Serve as a resource to staff regarding behavior management strategies, Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) practices, and student support services.
- Staff Training and Support
- Professional Development: Provide training and professional development on behavior management, ABA techniques, and related topics.
- Coaching: Demonstrate effective intervention strategies and provide coaching to staff implementing behavioral supports.
- Supervision: Supervise and support staff implementing behavior, academic, health, and self-care plans.
- Documentation and Compliance
- Record Maintenance: Maintain accurate documentation, behavior plans, data collection systems, reports, and progress monitoring records.
- Reporting: Prepare reports, graphs, data summaries, and recommendations for educational teams and required meetings.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with district procedures, special education requirements, and professional ethical standards.
Minimum Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's degree in a related field
- Current Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) certification
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Applied Behavior Analysis or a related field
- Job-related experience with increasing levels of responsibility

Other Functions
- Meetings
- Participate in meetings, professional development, and collaborative planning activities to gather and convey information necessary for job functions.
- Documentation
- Prepare written materials including behavior plans, reports, progress monitoring data, and other required documentation.
- Incident Reporting
- Report incidents, suspected abuse, safety concerns, and crisis situations in accordance with district policy and legal requirements.
- Emergency Response
- Respond to behavioral crises and emergency situations to maintain safety and direct individuals to appropriate personnel as needed.
- Inquiry Response
- Respond to inquiries from staff, parents, administrators, and community partners to resolve issues and provide information.
- Additional Duties
- Perform other related duties as assigned to ensure the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.
