Location: UChicago Medicine AdventHealth GlenOaks School, 43 E Stevenson Drive, Glendale Heights, IL
Schedule: August - May (school year)
Assists students with daily school activities and learning initiatives.
Provides or assists with providing direct student care, clinical assessments, and therapeutic interventions
Observes and records student behaviors and activities
Reports changes in student conditions to appropriate personnel and recommends treatment plan modifications
Establishes therapeutic relationships with assigned students
Works directly with students, school team, family members, and community providers to ensure collaborative and continuous care
May be required to manage daily group activities
Assists students to perform routine activities of daily living
Recognizes potential escalation of behavior and has ability to use appropriate verbal and physical interventions
Recognizes potential safety hazards, intervenes for the safety of students, visitors and staff and notifies appropriate department or person for correction of the problem
Utilizing CPI non-restraint verbal de-escalation interventions
Operates company vehicle as needed
Performs other duties as assigned
Education:
•Bachelor’s [Required]
Work Experience:
• 1+ year of other health care related field [Preferred]
• Experience in therapeutic school setting [Preferred]
Licenses and Certifications:
• Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) [Preferred]
• Paraprofessional Educator (PARA EDU) [Required] OR State Substitute Teacher Certification (SSTC) [Required]
• Driver’s License (DL) - [Required]

Pay Range:
