Medical Assistant - Certified

Clinical Duties and Responsibilities: Collects patient medical histories and records vital signs. Prepares patients for examination and explains treatment procedures to patients as needed. Gathers and prepares laboratory specimens, and may perform basic laboratory tests on the premises. Disposes contaminated supplies. Instructs patients about medication and special diets, and orders/obtains injectable medications from the onsite pharmacy as directed by a physician. May authorize drug refills as directed by a physician and telephone prescriptions to a pharmacy. Demonstrates knowledge of principles of trauma informed care. Willingness to support and assist consumers with trauma related issues.Administrative Duties and Responsibilities: Greets patients in a warm and welcoming environment.
