Job Description
The Frozen Supervisor is responsible for leading the frozen department’s daily operations, ensuring product availability, quality, and proper merchandising. This role drives sales, minimizes shrink, and maintains high standards for food safety, organization, and customer service.
Key Responsibilities Department Operations- Oversee stocking, rotation, and organization of frozen products
- Ensure all cases are fully stocked, clean, and merchandised to company standards
- Maintain proper signage, pricing, and promotional displays
- Monitor ordering and replenishment to meet demand while controlling inventory levels
- Train, coach, and supervise frozen department associates
- Assign daily workload and ensure tasks are completed efficiently
- Promote a team-oriented environment focused on productivity and accountability
- Provide feedback and support team performance improvement
- Deliver friendly and efficient customer service when assisting with product inquiries
- Address customer concerns and resolve issues promptly
- Maintain a clean and organized department that enhances the shopping experience
- Ensure accurate receiving and proper storage of frozen products
- Execute strict rotation practices (FIFO) to minimize shrink
- Monitor inventory levels and identify out-of-stock or overstock conditions
- Implement action plans to control shrink and improve profitability
- Ensure compliance with all frozen food safety and temperature standards
- Monitor freezer conditions and maintain proper temperature controls
- Maintain clean, safe, and organized freezer and backroom areas
- Follow all company policies and safety procedures
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous grocery or frozen department experience preferred
- Leadership or supervisory experience is a plus
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
- Frequent standing, bending, lifting, and reaching
- Ability to work in freezer conditions for extended periods
- Fast-paced retail setting
- Exposure to cold/freezer temperatures
- Flexible schedule including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Strong attention to detail and execution
- Effective leadership and teamwork skills
- Commitment to product quality and department standards
- Ability to manage inventory and drive efficient operations
