Description

The Premier League’s Football Development team are seeking a Leadership and Workforce Development Operations Assistant to support the delivery and continuous development of Leadership & Workforce Development (LWD) programmes within academy football. The preferred candidate will play a key role in programme operations, event delivery, learner engagement, research and content development, helping to ensure all programmes are delivered to a world-class standard.

The work we do in conjunction with the Clubs also goes far beyond the 90 minutes. We support and provide a framework for youth development, we protect the organisation’s intellectual property, support the wider game and community programmes, undertake international development work and liaise with governing bodies and other leagues.

Our hybrid-working model also allows you some variety on your place of work, offering you the chance to work from home on some days each week. Where possible, you will attend the office or site visits in line with our company policy. All staff liaise closely with their line manager to manage their time appropriately and according to their work and team requirements.


Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Operations Manager in the effective implementation of operations, logistics and administration across core LWD programmes. 
  • Contribute to the successful delivery of programmes before, during and after events, including: 
    • Classroom and workshop setup to ensure Premier League standards are met, including branding where required. 
    • Coordinating programme logistics in line with module agendas. 
    • Liaising with venue staff and external suppliers. 
    • Ensuring programme resources are delivered, organised and returned where necessary. 
  • Support learners throughout programme delivery by responding to queries and resolving concerns professionally and efficiently. 
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with LWD staff, facilitators, guest speakers, partners and learners. 
  • Support the development of criteria with the Programme Team, to identify high-potential individuals across different leadership levels within academy football. 
  • Support the research and monitor changes to staffing structures and leadership positions across academy football clubs, including sourcing job descriptions where possible. 
  • Collate and curate Premier League and external learning resources to complement face-to-face programme delivery. 
  • Support the development and implementation of evaluation frameworks across LWD programmes. 
  • Capture, analyse, and summarise programme learning outcomes and feedback to inform future development. 
  • Support the preparation of bi-monthly programme review reports, including: 
    • Programme objectives and outcomes 
    • Learner participation data and Contributor involvement 
    • Key insights and recommendations 
  • Capture programme curricula post-delivery to accurately reflect programme content and learning experiences delivered. 
  • Support the design and presentation of programme content to ensure a world-class learner experience. 
  • Work collaboratively with the programme team to improve the quality, clarity, and presentation of learning materials. 
  • Work with the programme team to develop learner-facing documentation, including learning purposes, programme guides, and supporting resources. 
  • Summarise key learning points from events and share insights with programme participants.


Role Requirement

  • Experience in event or programme delivery. 
  • Available to work on events mid-week (often Tuesday through to Thursday).
  • Flexibility to work extended event hours, including early mornings and late evenings when required. 
  • Understanding of the Academy Football landscape.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. 
  • Ability to build relationships and communicate confidently with internal and external stakeholders. 
  • Proactive and solutions-focused mindset with the ability to work independently. 
  • Comfortable operating in fast-paced environments and adapting to change. 
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and respond effectively to challenges. 
  • Strong collaborative approach and commitment to teamwork. 
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism. 
  • Experience supporting leadership development or learning programmes is desired but not required.
  • Experience in content creation, presentation design or learner resource development is desired but not required.
  • Experience conducting research, programme evaluation or reporting is desired but not required
