Job Description
Overall responsibilities and duties: Develops, maintains and improves manufacturing procedures, documentation, tools, fixtures, equipment and production line on all products. Responsible for planning, designing, developing, and maintaining manufacturing Work Instructions. Work closely with contract manufacturers and sub-tier suppliers to design, characterize and qualify high capability processes using process risk assessments (PFMEA), process flows, control plans, process validations, and product acceptance criteria. Supports DFM (design for manufacturing)/DFA (design for assembly). Provide technical oversight for manufacturing production performance, including product yield and cycle time management and scrap rate control. Identify the root cause of manufacturing process and product non-conformities. Identify and implement necessary actions to correct and prevent recurrence though the corrective and preventative action process. Reviews ECR’s and leads a cross-functional team to execute ECO’s into production Lead and implement data-driven improvements within the manufacturing operation for product design, assembly processes, and supply chain management. Initiates and/or approves all necessary changes in product design, tooling, methods, processes and any documentation that affects the manufacturability of an item or process, including Process Validation protocols. Be capable to estimate tool size, furthermore can select the proper IMM based on the tool size and the IMM information from technical and cost perspective.
