Job Description

Job ID 2026-20279 Main Purpose of the Job The Data Project Senior Manager at AXA Philippines is a strategic leadership role responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and delivery of complex data projects that support the company's business objectives

This role ensures projects are completed on time, within scope, and within budget, while aligning with AXA’s data governance standards, regulatory requirements, and digital transformation initiatives

The ideal candidate will possess strong project management skills combined with deep understanding of data architecture, analytics, and insurance operations

Key Accountabilities Project Planning & Delivery: Lead end-to-end management of data-related projects, including data migration, integration, analytics initiatives, data quality improvements, and regulatory reporting

Develop detailed project plans, timelines, budgets, and resource allocations

Define project scope, objectives, deliverables, and success criteria in collaboration with stakeholders

Stakeholder Management: Engage with business units such as underwriting, claims, actuarial, and sales to gather requirements and ensure alignment

Coordinate with IT, data teams, compliance, and external vendors to facilitate project execution

Provide regular updates and presentations to executive management and project sponsors

Team Leadership & Coordination: Lead cross-functional project teams, including data analysts, data engineers, IT specialists, and external consultants

Foster a collaborative environment that promotes best practices in project management and data governance

Data Governance & Quality: Ensure projects adhere to AXA’s data governance standards, privacy policies, and regulatory requirements

Implement data quality controls and validation processes as part of project deliverables

Risk & Issue Management: Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies

Address project issues promptly to minimize impact on timelines and quality

Change Management & Training: Support change management initiatives related to new data systems or processes

Facilitate training and knowledge transfer to end-users and operational teams

Performance Monitoring & Reporting: Track project KPIs, milestones, and deliverables

Prepare comprehensive reports and post-project reviews to evaluate success and lessons learned

Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on emerging data technologies, project management methodologies, and insurance industry best practices

Recommend process improvements to enhance project delivery efficiency

Key Stakeholders Internal Stakeholders Executive Leadership & Senior Management Chief Data Officer (CDO): Oversees data strategy and governance; ensures alignment of projects with overall data vision

Chief Technology and Transformation Officer (CTTO): Oversees the organization's technology architecture, infrastructure, and innovation initiatives, which directly impact data projects

Chief Operating Officer (COO) / Head of Operations: Interested in how data projects improve operational efficiency

Business Unit Heads (Underwriting, Claims, Actuarial, Sales, Customer Service): Provide requirements and expect solutions that support their functions

T&T Department / Data Engineering & Infrastructure Teams: Responsible for technical implementation, integration, and support

Data & Analytics Teams: Use data outputs for analysis, reporting, and decision-making

Compliance & Legal Teams: Ensure projects adhere to data privacy laws, industry regulations, and internal policies

Risk Management: Uses data for risk assessment and mitigation strategies

Operational Teams & End-Users Underwriters, Claims Adjusters, Actuaries, Customer Service Representatives, and Sales Teams who directly use the data solutions or reports

Project Support & Governance Bodies Project Steering Committees or Governance Boards that review project progress, approve budgets, and resolve escalations

Data Governance Committees overseeing data standards, quality, and compliance

External Stakeholders Regulators & Industry Bodies Regulatory agencies such as Insurance Commission (Philippines), Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), and data privacy authorities (e.g., National Privacy Commission)

External auditors conducting compliance checks

Vendors & Technology Partners Providers of data management, analytics, or project management tools and services (e.g., cloud providers, software vendors)

Consultants & Contractors External consultants or system integrators supporting project delivery, data migration, or system implementation

Customers & Policyholders Indirect stakeholders who benefit from improved service delivery, data security, and privacy assurance

Experience & Qualifications Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, Business Administration, or related field

PMP, Prince2, or other project management certifications highly preferred

Certifications in data management or analytics (e.g., CDMP, Microsoft Certified Data Analyst) are a plus

Experience: 8+ years of experience managing large-scale data projects in the insurance or financial services industry

Proven track record of delivering complex data transformation, reporting, and analytics projects

Experience working with insurance processes, products, or regulatory reporting is advantageous

Skills: Strong project management skills with proficiency in Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid methodologies

Deep understanding of data architecture, data warehousing, ETL processes, and analytics tools

Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication, and leadership skills

Ability to translate business needs into technical solutions

Familiarity with data governance, privacy, and security standards
