Position Summary
The Strategic Buyer is responsible for managing end-to-end procurement and sourcing activities, ensuring supply continuity, optimizing costs, and supporting strategic sourcing initiatives. This role combines commercial execution with strong analytical capabilities, leveraging data-driven insights to inform decision-making, enhance supplier performance, and drive continuous improvement across procurement processes.
Key Responsibilities
Data, Reporting & Analytics
Generate, analyze, and interpret procurement data to support strategic and operational decision-making
Develop and maintain dashboards, KPIs, and reports to track spend, savings, and supplier performance
Gather and structure data for RFQs, benchmarking, and market analysis
Maintain and ensure accuracy of procurement master data, including supplier price files and vendor records
Identify trends, risks, and opportunities through spend and market analysis
Standardize reporting templates and improve data management practices
Drive data-led process improvements and automation initiatives
Strategic Sourcing
Lead supplier negotiations including pricing, payment terms, and minimum order quantities (MOQs) for assigned categories
Support and execute strategic sourcing initiatives, including RFx processes and supplier selection
Support product costing, including formula and component cost analysis
Conduct market intelligence and supplier benchmarking to inform sourcing strategies
Compliance & Process Governance
Ensure procurement activities comply with contractual agreements and preferred supplier strategies
Maintain accurate and up-to-date vendor master data
Support audit readiness and compliance reporting requirements
