Starting salaries generally fall between the minimum and midpoint of the range. Each offer depends on the candidate’s experience and qualifications, internal pay equity, and available budget. Salary offers are negotiated individually based on these factors.

This position leads critical electrical transmission and distribution initiatives including system planning, infrastructure design, capital improvement projects, and long-range strategies that support safe, reliable, and resilient electric service.

SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION
This is a full-time, in-person, position with a typical Monday–Friday schedule of 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. Flexible scheduling options, including a 9/80 schedule with alternating Fridays off or a 4/10 schedule, may be available.
Final candidate must establish and maintain residency within a 30 minute or less response time to designated City facilities for emergency response.
Selection will be based on overall qualifications, skills testing (if applicable), and an interview process. The final candidate selected will be subject to a comprehensive background/reference check commensurate to the position.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree with coursework in electrical engineering, or related field
Five (5) years of experience in electrical distribution and transmission
Three (3) years in a supervisory role
Any equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities will be considered.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Valid driver’s license
Washington State Professional Electrical Engineer's license upon hire date.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS
Experience with electric utility substation and distribution systems.
Experience with Bonneville Power Administration (BPA) transmission operations and interconnection requirement process.
Experience developing and managing utility capital improvement planning, multi-year capital budgeting, asset management programs, and long-range system planning efforts.
