The Service Hub Middle East plays a key role in supporting regional operations and driving operational excellence across projects and service delivery.
Role Overview
The (Senior) Project Manager / Team Lead Operations combines hands-on project execution with operational team leadership.
In this hybrid role, the individual is responsible for:
• Successfully delivering one or more projects (direct contribution), and
• Supporting the Service Hub Manager in leading and developing the
Operations team.
The role requires a strong balance between execution, leadership, and operational oversight, ensuring both project performance and team effectiveness.
Key Responsibilities
1. Project Management (Primary Responsibility)
• Lead and deliver multiple service and/or repair projects within scope, budget, and schedule
• Act as primary point of contact for clients and internal stakeholders
• Ensure effective planning, procurement, logistics, and execution coordination
• Manage project risks and ensure timely escalation where required
• Maintain commercial control, including cost tracking and margin protection
• Ensure compliance with Damen processes, HSEQ standards, and contractual obligations
2. Team Lead Operations (Part-time Role)
Supporting the Service Hub Manager, the role includes:
Team Leadership
• Act as team lead for the Operations team (Project Managers and Project Engineers)
• Provide day-to-day guidance and ensure alignment across operational activities
Team Development
• Drive continuous development of the Operations team (skills, knowledge, and leadership capabilities)
• Coach team members on project execution, stakeholder management, and ownership
Capacity & Resource Planning
• Manage and optimize capacity planning across the Operations team
• Ensure efficient allocation of resources across projects and priorities
Operational Execution & Cadence
• Support daily and weekly operational rhythm (meetings, follow-ups, action tracking)
• Ensure actions are clearly defined, monitored, and closed
Escalation & Governance
• Act as first-line escalation point for operational issues within Area 3
• Ensure adherence to operational governance, processes, and reporting standards
Requirements
• Minimum 5–10 years of experience in project management within maritime, offshore, or technical services
• Proven track record in delivering complex service or repair projects
• Experience in leading teams or acting in a coordination/lead role
Skills & Competencies
• Strong project management and organizational skills
• Leadership capability with a hands-on, pragmatic approach
• Ability to balance operational oversight with direct project execution
• Strong stakeholder management (internal and external)
• Commercial awareness and cost control mindset
• Structured, process-driven, and solution-oriented
Education
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Maritime, or related field
