JOB TITLE: Supervising School Nurse
DEPARTMENT: Student Services / Health Services
REPORTS TO: Executive Director of Student Support
FLSA STATUS: Exempt
EMPLOYMENT STATUS: Full-time; 10-month contract
SALARY: Based on Degree and Experience
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Education:
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited nursing program required.
Experience:
Minimum of three (3) years of nursing experience required; experience in school nursing or pediatric nursing preferred. Supervisory experience preferred.
Skills: Valid Oklahoma Registered Nurse (RN) license required. Knowledge of school health regulations, communicable disease control, and student health management. Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to collaborate with administrators, staff, parents, and community healthcare providers. Proficiency with electronic health records and computer applications.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

- Provide leadership and supervision for district school nurses and health staff.
- Develop, implement, and monitor district health services policies and procedures in accordance with state and federal regulations.
- Coordinate health services programs across district schools to ensure consistent and effective delivery of care.
- Provide guidance and professional support to school nurses regarding student health concerns, emergency procedures, and health compliance issues.
- Maintain compliance with immunization requirements and state health regulations.
- Coordinate training for school staff on health-related procedures including medication administration, emergency response, and health safety practices.
- Serve as liaison between the district, parents, healthcare providers, and community health agencies.
- Assist with development and monitoring of individualized health plans for students with medical needs.
- Monitor communicable disease trends and coordinate appropriate response procedures.
- Maintain accurate records and reports related to student health services.
- Assist administrators with student health issues that may affect attendance, safety, or participation in school activities.
- Participate in district safety planning and emergency preparedness related to student health services.
- Provide professional development and mentoring for school nursing staff.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Executive Director of Student Support or designee.

ATTENDANCE STATEMENT:
Able to be in attendance for assigned responsibilities with 95% attendance.
ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:
Primarily indoor working conditions with occasional exposure to communicable diseases and school health environments.
PHYSICAL STANDARDS:
Frequent standing, walking, and sitting. Ability to respond quickly in emergency situations. Talking and hearing to communicate with students, staff, and parents. Manual dexterity required to operate computers, medical equipment, and office equipment. Ability to assist students as necessary in health-related situations.
