The Specialist, Corporate Real Estate – Space Strategy is an early career real estate professional who supports the planning, allocation, and optimization of corporate workplace environments across The Walt Disney Company's global portfolio. In this role, you will apply analytical thinking and problem-solving skills to help ensure that Disney's corporate spaces are efficient, adaptable, and aligned with business needs, enabling world-class storytellers to do their best work in innovative, leading-edge environments.
Responsibilities:
As a Specialist, you will contribute to the Corporate Real Estate team by gathering and interpreting occupancy data, coordinating space requests, and supporting cross-functional partners in delivering effective workplace solutions. You will work under moderate guidance, independently managing defined tasks, providing informal guidance to new team members, and clearly explaining complex information to stakeholders. This role matters because thoughtful space planning and occupancy management help Disney maintain a safe, efficient, and inspiring workplace that supports our global, innovative entertainment mission, and it requires a detail-oriented, collaborative, and independent problem-solver to be successful.
- Support intake and documentation of space requests from business units, including headcount, seating needs, adjacency requirements, timing, and special use needs.
- Assist with gathering and validating headcount forecasts and workplace requirements to ensure alignment with corporate workplace standards and portfolio strategies.
- Contribute to utilization studies by collecting and organizing data such as badge swipes, reservations, and visual observations to identify opportunities to optimize space usage.
- Help develop and compare multiple space solutions (e.g., restacks, reconfigurations, densification, phased occupancy) by analyzing capacity, specialty requirements, and employee experience considerations.
- Coordinate with Design & Delivery and Operations partners to validate feasibility, costs, schedule impacts, and implementation details for proposed space solutions.
- Support the preparation of materials to align stakeholders on recommended solutions and assist with handoff into project execution or move coordination when construction is not required.
- Maintain accurate records of space assignments, moves, and occupancy changes, ensuring data integrity across systems and reports.
- Collaborate with internal partners, vendors, and new team members by sharing information, explaining complex concepts in clear terms, and contributing to a collaborative, innovative team culture.
Required Qualifications:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to evaluate multiple options and propose practical space and occupancy solutions (problem-solver, independent worker).
- Ability to work independently under moderate guidance, managing assigned tasks and deadlines in a dynamic, early career environment (early career, independent worker).
- Effective verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to explain complex information clearly to stakeholders and team members.
- Strong collaboration skills and comfort working in a cross-functional, innovative, and adaptable team environment.
- Attention to detail and organizational skills to manage data, documentation, and multiple concurrent requests.
- Proficiency with standard office productivity tools (e.g., spreadsheets, presentations, and databases) to analyze and present occupancy and space data.
- Comfort working with stakeholders to understand workplace needs that impact space planning and interior layouts.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent professional experience.
- At least 1+ years of experience in corporate real estate, facilities, workplace planning, space management, business, finance, administration or other related functions.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience supporting multiple projects or workstreams simultaneously in a corporate real estate, design, or facilities environment.
- Familiarity with reading or interpreting floor plans, construction documents, or workplace standards.
- Exposure to workplace strategy, occupancy planning, or utilization analytics in a commercial office setting.
Preferred education:
- Master’s and/or Bachelor's degree in Real Estate and/or a real estate related discipline including Project Management, Architecture, Engineering, Real Estate Finance, Business Administration, etc..
