Job Description
Position Overview We are seeking an individual who has experience doing financial services work to join one of the leading fast-paced financial advisory teams in the downtown Toronto office. As an Associate the incumbent will contribute to growing the business by supporting the Investment Advisors, ensuring high-level client service, and providing dedicated specialized administrative support on diverse assignments.
This is an existing vacancy. Duties and Responsibilities Investment Advisor Support & Administration:• Manage the execution of transactions on behalf of the Advisors• Assist investment advisors with preparing reports for investment policy statements, portfolio evaluations, financial plans, retirement projections, client commentaries/reviews and investment proposals• Prepare, analyze, and present internal reports (excel) and execute on registered plan contributions • Providing the team with technical support and navigating our various software and systems intuitively over time • Preparing, analyzing and summarizing client reports on investments, actionable items, cash flow summaries, etc. • Prepare book value adjustment reports, donation of appreciated securities, coordination with third party foundations and charitable organizations, saving client statements, subscription agreements, deed of gifts, transfer authorizations, address updates,• Communication with tax accountants and collection and coordination of tax slips, statements, realized gain/loss reports, etc at tax time • Monitoring team email inbox, delegate work and ensure that nothing slips through the cracks • Updating team CRM regularly• Familiarize and adhere to compliance requirements, including all aspects of new and existing account documentation and marketing materials to maintain a culture and operation of risk management• Backup: Management of team and investment advisor calendar for client and individual meetings
Client Service:• Provide a high level of client service which includes responding to phone, mail and electronic enquiries based on knowledge of full service brokerage• Transferring cash to client bank accounts, wire transfers in and out, confirming receipt of funds and that cash has been transferred out • Provide gold standard client service anticipating client needs and delivering proactive and quality communications to ensure clients are apprised of details related to their accounts
Qualifications • Minimum 3 years’ experience in the financial services industry• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English • Ability to take initiative and work independently• Understanding of industry compliance regulations• Strict attention to detail• Excellent organizational and time management skills• Ability to quickly learn new technologies and programs
Education • An undergraduate and/or postgraduate degree in Business/Economics or related field• Must be licensed with Canadian Investment Regulatory Organization (CIRO) as an Investment Representative (IR)
The expected annualized base salary range for this role is $50,000-$80,000The actual salary offered will take into consideration a wide array of factors including, but not limited to, the individual’s skill, experience, education and training, and the consideration of internal equity.Richardson offers a competitive total rewards package including comprehensive health & dental benefits, a group RRSP matching plan and paid time off.
